"Dear Doraville" Song Composition Winner

Updated: Jan 2

And the winner is... Jeff Clein!

Congratulations to Jeff Clein for submitting the winning composition for our original song, Dear Doraville!

Of course, it's no surprise that Jeff has direct ties to our beloved Doraville, having moved there in the mid 1970's. (Fun fact: He’s an old friend of the brother of one of our film's producers!) His heartfelt submission will be the inspiration for the final cut of the song, perfectly capturing the spirit of Doraville. This project put Jeff back in touch with some of his childhood friends from Doraville. And, as all Doraville stories go, they picked up where they left off and reminisced as if no time had passed at all.

As our contest winner, Jeff takes home a $750 prize and earns a spot in the film credits as one of the song's composers. Congratulations, Jeff!

We'd also like to thank the other talented musicians who submitted their original compositions for our song as well. All of the submissions seemed to capture the essence of Doraville, making our decision that much more difficult. We see opportunity for a huge collaboration at some point. Stay tuned for this idea to evolve.

In the meantime, please check out the lyrics and links to the original song, below. We're envisioning a live sneak preview of our film taking place in Doraville this spring/summer, and we expect to see everyone singing along!

Keep your eyes open for details about that epic celebration. We have something VERY exciting in the works, and you won't want to miss it!
